Comodo resold digital certificate services to Francisco Partner financial group to focus on providing security services such as cWatch, antivirus. The acquisition was completed, Francisco Partners decided to refactor Comodo and rename the brand to Sectigo.
From December 1, 2018, customers will buy Comodo certificates from Sectigo. In 2019, customers will have to conduct revocation of the active certificate and re-issue it to convert the certificate from the Comodo original certificate to the original Sectigo certificate. This is a mandatory business in the context that Sectigo’s original certificate has not been licensed, signed and authenticated by platforms and browsers.
After completing the conversion process according to the instructions, the client’s digital certificate will be in the original Sectigo certificate system. The Comodo brand will not be used for digital certificate products, and will officially bid farewell to customers after 20 years of attachment.
