Symantec was once the world's most trusted certificate authority. However, due to incorrect issuance of more than 30,000 certificates in 2016, Symantec root certificate has been removed by Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. This decision forced Symantec to resell the SSL / TLS service segment to Digicert. Today, the purchase certificate from Symantec will have the original name according to the [old brand] [digicert] syntax.
